I'm currently looking to buy a camera, but I'm waiting for the release of the ZV-E10 Mark 2. If it has equally good autofocus, produces equally beautiful images, and is under $1000, then I'll be happy. I don't need a viewfinder or anything; I'd rather invest that money in a lens.

The noise cancelling in this really helped me when I have to film late night videos. Keeps the little ones crying and refrigerator noise out. I had been using a wired Sennheiser, and I can get as good as that with some post eq and comp.

I really loved my 18-35 f/1.8 on my Blackmagic PCC6K, and I just ordered the 28-45 f/1.8 for my Sony FX6.

You convinced me. Just pulled the trigger on the M2 combo set. $189 with tax on Amazon. I've been using several wired lavalier mics, including a Rode. I also have a Shure m88+. I have a Lumix g85 but I've been recording all my videos on my Samsung s22 Ultra just because I'm lazy and the camera is so good. I was also getting some noise when trying to use an external mic on the G85. Hoping this M2 solves that problem Thanks for the review. I've subscribed.

I don't know, man. I think the NTG3 and NTG5 are just head and shoulders above the rest. Head and shoulders above the rest in price for sure, but you get what you pay for--and I say this as a Videomic NTG owner <crying>

They are a great little mic...the even work with PA systems...I used it to mic up a speaker at a convention and it worked fantastic.

hey Mark! I’m an actor about to purchase the Sony ZV-E10, wondering your advice… for lenses, I’ve been looking at the Sigma 30mm f1.4, the Sigma 16mm f1.4, and the Viltrox AF 56mm f1.4. I’ll mostly be using this for self tape auditions, but would also love to take headshots for friends and start experimenting with short films. Would any of these lenses be ideal for all of these purposes, or do I need to just focus on one thing at a time and add different lenses when I can afford? Thank you for your time and love the info in your vids!

This video made me bite the bullet on the YN16, so thank you for that. I'd considered the Sigma for a year or so, but the YN's smaller size and price tag (£144!) was hard to ignore any longer, especially after your take. Suffice to say, HUGE improvement on the kit lens in every way. I've only started on my first video with it, but the results are spectacular. Cheers!

Apart from the Bluetooth and touchscreen thingy, the Weebill S-released 4 years ago-did/still does all of these thing, supports as much weight, even has that wonderful underslung mode feature, and we seem to have forgotten all about that. Sure, the Cinepeer 3E is a great gimbal, but it does nothing that the much older Weebill S didn't (and still doesn't) do.

It's also why 50mm lenses are so cheap... They are so much easier to make than the other lenses (for FF cameras).

Love your videos. I have two Dougie’s, one FX30, and an FS7M2. I am learning as I go. Your videos have been part of my inspiration to move my video endeavors forward! I love the fact you bring the understanding that you can create incredible video with what you have. I wish you could do a segment of an FS7M2 and compare it to the latest greatest. I went with the FS7M2 because it seems to check the most essential elements for video to last for years to come! Keep up the you that you do!

Yes it’s cheaper and a bit brighter but you can’t use v mount batteries, you can’t use it without the fan turning on, and there’s no wifi connectivity, no yoke mount, and also limited power connectivity to 4 pin only

Excellent review Mark, and that lens looks like a fantastic option for the money! These cheap lenses are getting so good it's pretty remarkable to say the least...

I love the ZV-E10, but I upgraded to the A6700 for the 10-bit video to match my FX30 and for that AI chip with built-in LUTs. If you have the money the A6700 is worth it, but it does suck to not have a cheap camera, but I would get the Lumix G100 instead.

how this lens compares to a Sigma 16/1.4 contemporary?

Ulazi records with extremely low audio even with +10 Gain and max volume in settings. How were you able to fix this issue when playing back audio?

I was really impressed by the sound quality of the Hollywood mics. Personally felt it sounded more natural and full compared to the Rode. Was surprised by that. Love the small size and magnetic mounting options. As a heavy breather...I wonder if the noise canceling might be helpful to me. I have a sarmonic wireless system and don't do much video content, but this is tempting.

I'm with you on the Zero tripod being my main travel tripod. I hike and so I need my tripod to be as light as possible. Though if Ulanzi releases a new F-38 universal head for the zero like the one on this new tripod, I would buy it.

Viltrox lenses are large and heavy which negates using APS-C camera in the first place.

I’ve noticed that this lens tends to be quite soft. The sharpness in the photos doesn’t seem as good as what you’d get from a basic kit lens or those older, inexpensive 50mm lenses for DSLRs. Considering this, I personally don’t think it’s worth the price, even if it appears cheap at first glance.

this was very helpful, thank you very much for putting it together. I do have a question. I follow your instructions on how to save the file to the T. In CB they changes are saved and after renaming it I can see that everything saved correctly. However when i click on the file to play in Quicktime the changes are not there. Just FYI I'm making the clips to upload to Instagram and YouTub. What am i missing ? Thanks for your help!

Hi Mark, I've given you a few dollars of affiliate income several times now. Lol. I love your channel, so you're welcome. 😊 I bought the ZVE 10 back in January. But after running it through the paces, I decided that was not quite the camera for me. The real deal killers there were lack of 10-bit, 120 FPS and the limitation of 720p USB streaming. That streaming looks like garbage on 2024. Lol So now a few months later I have purchased the a6700. I had all kinds of crystal clear 4K dreams in my head. To date I have not been able to get 120 FPS out of my camera. Either the body is defective or my v90 card is not actually v90. Anyway, my question is this: I've seen you stream live with these cameras, and your streams look great. I assume you're using a switcher and these cameras are running HDMI. And the reason I assume this is because I can't seem to get anything but garbage out of the a6700, even after finding the right USB cable. It still looks like 720. Or maybe a touch better, but it's definitely not as good as my Panasonic GH5 was (over HDMI w El Gato). I was hoping to avoid HDMI streaming for simple Zoom calls and OBS stuff. But both Zoom and OBS show this camera in some quasi 720p, very low-res grainy type of footage. Is that just what I have to live with? Does the a6700 actually not do great 1080p? Or is there a trick to getting true 1080p, as good as HDMI quality, over USB?
